Tech Know Services Appointed As Official DEC SCAN Distributor.

We are delighted to announce that we have been appointed distributors for the DEC Scan range of diagnostic tools. What are you doing about the new MAC Laws, affecting everyone who works on vehicle air con, you must be certificated by 4th July 2010.

Many garages seem to know little or nothing about the new Europe wide legislation on Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) these regulations state that ANYONE who is going to work on vehicle air conditioning systems after 4th July 2010 will be required to be certificated in their competence in handling refrigerants. This means that unless you have a qualification that meets the latest requirements (EC307/2008 or equivalent) then you will not be able to work or even touch anything that involves refrigerants. This is a personal qualification NOT a garage qualification, so anyone who works on air con will require certification, not just one person per garage as in the past.
