Course content:

This course has been specifically developed for technicians who are required to work on vehicle systems or components and are users of Bosch test equipment KTS520, KTS530, KTS540, KTS550, KTS570, KTS650 or KTS670. Bosch test equipment is designed to be user friendly with operator assistance provided by on board help & reference menus. On site user training is also given by us upon delivery of the equipment to your workshop.

However, the design requirement that offers flexibility of application & use, results in a variety of hardware & software operating procedures. Coupled with this, there are special functions or test programs.

This course is interactive & has a high practical contect to focus on the attainment of the user skills required to access all functions of the KTS equipment. The course is divided into linked modules & subject areas to cover the following topics:

The equipment overview.
Operating controls: hardware & software functions.
Practical user's tasks.
Multimeter & oscilloscope overview.

Attainment:

On completion of the course, the trainee will be able to:

Operate the KTS controls & set up calibration procedures. Use ESI(Tronic) information systems to access technical data relevant to vehicle systems & diagnosis.
Carry out a diagnostic test routine following ESI(Tronic) procedures for access of arror memory, actual values (live data) & actuator test display modes using the test cables & accessories provided.
Measure typical signals using the onboard multimeter & oscilloscope functions, including displaying & recording these values.
Use of the functions of ESI(Tronic) Service Information System & the Control Unit Diagnosis program linked by the Computer Aided Service system.

Prerequisites and recommended reading prior to attending course:

Ideally the delegate will have been using the KTS system for a few weeks prior to attending this course. A sound working knowledge of computers & the Windows operating system is also essential.
