Course content:

This course is designed for any garage service technicians who carry out diagnostic and repair work on the body electronics systems fitted to modern passenger cars. Supplementary Restraint Systems (SRS e.g. Airbag) and Litronic Electronic Lighting systems are covered in this course, and an overview on Body System Networks is also included.

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with a working knowledge of selected vehicle body control systems and enable them to carry out safe, accurate and efficient system diagnosis on such systems.

Prerequisites and Recommended Reading
The minimum prerequisites for this vehicle systems course are the successful completion of courses VSE 1 and VSTD 9. Prior attendance on courses VSE 7 and VSC 13 will aid understanding and the appropriate equipment user’s courses are also strongly recommended. Delegates are expected to have experience with typical oscilloscope and diagnostic tester operation.

Assessment & certification:

The tests and practical tasks will be carried out using Bosch test equipment, System information, training notes and course material.

Delegates will be expected to complete a course examination.

A certificate of competence will be issued to those achieving a pass mark of 70% or over.

To obtain full Master Technician status the delegate is required to complete the Master Technician, one day practical and theory test. Upon successful completion, the delegate will be awarded with Bosch Master Technician status and certificate, awarded by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).
