Course content:

This course is designed for garage service technicians who carry out test & diagnosis on vehicle engine management systems. The aim of the course is to provide delegates with the skills & knowledge required to work with confidence & efficiency on a range of engine management systems. Customary interrogation techniques via self-diagnosis will be covered, along with direct testing of typical system sensors & actuators.

Prerequisites and recommended reading prior to attending course:

Successful completion of the VSE1, Essential Test Procedures course and VSG2 Ignition Systems course is a prerequisite to attending the VSG5 course, a good understanding of oscilloscopes is also preferable, so attendance of the VSTD9 Oscilloscope course is an advantage.

Assessment & certification:

Delegates will be expected to complete a course examination and achieve a pass mark of 70% or more.

A certificate of competence will be issued upon completion of this.

To obtian full diagnostic technician status, the delegate is required to complete the Diagnostc Technician one day practical & theory test. Upon successful completion, the delegate will be awarded with Bosch Diagnostic Technician status & certification, awarded by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

Accreditation:

All Bosch Diagnostic Technician programme courses are co-certified by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) QAA scheme.
