Course content:
With the growing integration of diesel injection systems and electronic control, this course provides the theoretical information and practical procedures required, for technicians working on Bosch VE and VE/EDC diesel injection systems as used by leading vehicle manufacturers. The delegate will gain valuable in-depth knowledge of the mechanical and electronic fault diagnosis of these systems, including the display of sensor signals using the latest Bosch test equipment. Analysis of these displays and results is a key part of learning a diagnostic approach to vehicle symptoms and system faults.

Completion of courses VSE 1, VSG 2 and VSG 5
is a prerequisite to attending
VSD 12 and delegates should be familiar with typical multi-scope tester operation. Prior attendance on VSTD 9 “Diagnosis using the Oscilloscope” is strongly recommended as well as the appropriate equipment user’s courses.

Assessment and Certification
The tests and practical tasks will be carried out using
Bosch test equipment, service information, training notes and course material.
Delegates will be expected to complete a course examination.
A certificate of competence will be issued to those achieving a pass mark of 70% or over.
To obtain full Diagnostic Technician status the delegate is required to complete
the Diagnostic Technician, one day practical and theory test.
Upon successful completion,
the delegate will be awarded with Bosch Diagnostic Technician status and certificate,
awarded by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).
Accreditation
All Bosch Diagnostic Technician programme courses are co-certified by
the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) QAA scheme.
