The Reiner 3000 is a revolutionary tool, that effectively does away with the need
to buy £30,000 to £70,000 worth of full rolling road dynamometer.
This unit is powered from the cigar lighter, receives speed signals from the off
board speed measuring device, which utilises a pickup directly attached to the wheel.
It also measures the RPM over the EOBD socket for extra resolution. It also measures
humidity, temperature, ambient pressure, as well as you entering the vehicle weight
& frontal dimension, along with a few other details.
Once all this is entered (which takes just a couple of minutes) you drive the car,
using any acceleration pattern, such as 0-100Km/h or 20-80Km/h, the handset records
all the runs & can store up to four tests. With the drive test over, you can return
to the workshop & either view the details on the Reiner's LCD screen, or better still
view & print the details, including full graphs on you PC or Laptop. As well as displaying
actual wheel Bhp, it will calculate actual flywheel Bhp and will even calculate the
corrected EWG Bhp (measure used by testing organisations, to give correct Bhp in
all conditions), by using the temperature, humidity & pressure data to calculate
the actual Bhp in 'EWG' conditions (i.e. 25 celsius, 30% humidity & 1000Mb pressure).
This tool is absolutely invaluable in establishing what effect a tuning modification
has had on the vehicle, by performing a before & after test.
